Convention of States!

Listen: Mike Farris on Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval

Why do we want to hold a Convention of States?

Michael Farris explained the answer yesterday on Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval.

A Convention of States can force the federal government to follow the Constitution-as-written instead of the Constitution-as-interpreted, Farris said.

The Constitution-as-written calls for a very limited federal government -- it does not allow, for example, federal agencies like the EPA to create laws. According to the Constitution, only Congress can create laws.

Farris explained, "the problems that we see like the runaway national debt, runaway spending, intrusion in our liberties" are all due to the fact that we're not following the Constitution as it was originally conceived.
