On July 12 a group of Convention of States South Dakota patriots gathered to “Let Freedom Ring” and enjoy a potluck, along with fellowship time together.
Harvey Fitzgerald (District 30 Captain) led a meeting with updates on upcoming events in the area that will have a COS presence. He encouraged attendees to find opportunities in their own communities.
An “Outstanding Volunteer Award” was presented to Ray Greff for his patriotic efforts in collecting signatures and sharing the Convention of States mission. Greff has been gathering petitions and promoting COS at various organizations around Rapid City.
Greff and Jerry Jessen (two active volunteers) also shared some comments and resources they have utilized recently. The group put together a list of people who signed up to volunteer at the upcoming events.
The group was honored to have Rod Geil (District Captain from Wyoming) and his wife Colleen travel to the area to attend the afternoon event. Geil shared his thoughts on COS with our team.
"It was exciting to have a few new volunteers join us and see additional people want to get more involved to help," said Velva Fitzgerald, State Information Analyst for COS South Dakota.
Those in attendance received a can cover/coozie and a “Let Freedom Ring" cowbell.
