Former Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer and State Senator Beverly Gossage happily photo-bombed the Convention of States volunteer crew picture at a recent event in Olathe.
This was just one of several events around Kansas in recent days where COS volunteers were inviting savvy Kansans into our grassroots army.
A Wichita area team represented COS at the Wellington Wheat Festival on July 10. Not only did they find new petition signers, they were able to send people home understanding that merely voting every four years is not enough.
They explained that the Founders intended the republic to thrive through active citizen participation rather than allowing a ruling class to emerge. District Captain Carl Nelson also recruited locals for an upcoming Biblical Citizenship class.
While many have been focused on the dumpster fire in Washington for years, they have only recently realized how effective the social(ist) engineers have been in effecting significant changes in our schools and local government.
We are seeing a new vitality in Kansans unwilling to allow the local ruling class to subject us to their ever-expanding schemes. Kansans are stepping up to stop critical race theory in our schools as well as to push back against the worst effective tax rates in the country.
Kansans are not happy with the direction of their communities and are getting involved in school board and city council elections as we have not seen before.
Let's work this year to encourage more Kansans to show up and be counted in these local elections. One vote is not enough. We need to make sure family and friends understand what is at stake and get them engaged, as well.
Service club meetings, community events, and county fairs are happening all across Kansas. These present great opportunities for COS volunteers to expose more people to the only solution as big as the problem. Local political organizations are hosting candidate events. COS needs to be there, and we need our volunteers to help.
We keep a Grassroots Calendar for you to see what events are coming up across the state. Watch this calendar for events in your area.
If you have an event coming up in your area that is not on the Grassroots Calendar, we encourage you to contact your local COS leader and let them know about the event. If you don't know who to call, then email info@cosaction.com. We will get back to you.
