Joan Bakken
My name is Joan Bakken and my husband is Dennis Bakken. We live in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Between us we have four children and seven grandchildren. The Convention of States came to my attention several years ago, but I did not understand what it was all about.
Watching the growing frustrations and concerns of many on Facebook and seeing the common thread of people not knowing what to about our problems in the Federal government/Washington DC, I was prompted to look up the COS website. There I found what I was looking for: a way to have my voice heard in a constructive manner.
This convinced me to sign up as a Volunteer, and I am always eager to do what I can to further the Convention of States. On June 10th I will join with many people from throughout Michigan to attend the Convention of States Surge Day. I am looking forward to meeting with others that want to effect change in Washington DC.
