It’s Halloween, and Congress is the biggest House of Horrors ever

Published in Blog on October 29, 2021 by Bill Parks

Today is Halloween—a day marked by the sudden appearance of ghosts, witches, goblins, and other spooky things.

It's a day when kids get to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, hoping to get a bag full of candy. It's a day that's fun and safe to both be scary and to be scared.

When I was a kid, Halloween was my second favorite holiday (after Christmas of course), and my favorite thing to do (other than getting lots of candy) was to go to the House of Horrors at the local Halloween Carnival (usually held at our elementary school) in hopes of being scared.

I eventually outgrew trick-or-treating, but I still liked going to the House of Horrors, now one of those big commercial operations that were much larger and generally much scarier than those at the Halloween Carnival, especially if I had a date clinging tightly to me.

Today, I generally stay home on Halloween and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters that stop by, and sometimes I even put on a costume for the fun of it.

But much of the fun of Halloween seems to have gone by the wayside, thanks to our politically correct society. I miss that part of it, especially the House of Horrors.

But there is still a House of Horrors out there that haunts us all, and it’s the biggest House of Horrors ever. Unfortunately, it is not the fun kind of scary from my youth. This is a terrifying kind of scary, a truly frightening House of Horrors.

And it should scare the hell out of all of us.

This House of Horrors isn’t just open on Halloween, and the horrors within aren’t limited to just those who enter into its abyss. It is open for business 200 days a year, and the horrors that come from it not only affect every citizen of the United States. They will also affect their children, their grandchildren and their great grandchildren in perpetuity, if left unchecked.

This House of Horrors is located in Washington, D.C., and it is called Congress!

It is haunted by some of the most vile, hideous monsters ever to inhabit the earth. These fearful creatures (Congressmen and Senators) have the power to destroy everything good and replace it with everything evil. And they never yield in their quest.

These monsters of mayhem have many powers, some of which were granted to them but most of which they assumed for themselves. They abuse these powers to cast evil spells called “laws” and put curses upon the people such as a $21 trillion national debt and $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Most of the time these monsters hide within the halls of their House of Horrors, but every two years they must venture out to appeal to the people over which they reign to renew their powers.

It is during this time that they are most vulnerable and therefore use all forms of lies and trickery to persuade the people that they are not monsters but are instead benevolent masters who are only looking out for the interests of the people.

Fortunately, our ancient fathers of long ago saw the wickedness of their ways and put in place a means for the people to stop these  evil overlords or banish them from this house.

The solution is called a Convention of States, and it gives the people the right to call a convention to propose amendments to the Constitution that will return the control of Congress to the people.

On this Halloween, join me and millions of others in calling for a Convention of States and turning this House of Horrors back into a House of the People so that we may once again enjoy Halloween without fear.
