The Hawkeye State is on the move!
An Iowa subcommittee voted on Wednesday to pass Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 2, calling for an Article V convention. The application will now advance to the full Senate State Government Committee for further review.
Iowa State Director Karen Schuster joined a team of supporters representing over 56,000 Iowans who have signed the COS petition. They pushed for using Article V as the Founding Fathers' constitutional safeguard against federal tyranny.
“The Republic that I’m going to hand my children and grandchildren is not as good as the Republic our parents and grandparents handed down to me,” testified one proponent. “I have an obligation to fight for those values and morals of the Founding Fathers, hammered out in the Constitution.”
