In honor of Constitution Week, COS Illinois partnered with the St. Charles Veteran Center to educate Americans on our nation's Constitution and Article V.
In this weekend event, COS members representing Illinois held various seminars at the Veterans Center in an “open house” style, with topics such as how states can propose amendments under Article V and how the people can bypass Congress in order to limit the federal government in terms of spending, size, and term limits.
COS participants even had the opportunity to take part in the “Freedom Walk Parade” to honor Constitution Week.
“Along with growing the grassroots army and engaging with and influencing our legislators, it's so critical to identify and partner with local, "like-minded" organizations,” said Regional Captain Lance Foust.
“Veterans groups will generally be open to our message. Of course, collaborating with a Veterans Center while informing and educating the public during Constitution Week was SO appropriate for our local COS Team,” Foust added.
