How Trump's tax plan + Convention of States = freedom and prosperity

Published in Blog on December 05, 2017 by Convention of States Project

Trump’s tax plan is good news for Americans across the board.

It slashes taxes for big businesses, small businesses, and individuals. It lowers the top tax rates for corporations and pass-through small businesses, and it doubles the individual deductible. It also simplifies the tax code, which will make filing taxes easier and less expensive. It even encourages states to lower taxes by removing the state and local tax deductible.

There’s just one problem: right now, it will also rapidly raise the national debt. Lowering taxes reduces federal revenue, which means the government will have to reduce spending if it doesn’t want to spend in the deficit. Considering Congress’ recent track record, it doesn’t seem likely they’ll be able to agree on a plan to cut government programs any time soon.

That’s why this is the perfect time to call an Article V Convention of States.

A Convention of States can force the feds to cut spending, which, coupled with Trump’s tax plan, will put more money in the pockets of individual Americans while also reducing the national debt.

It’s the best of both worlds, but we can’t trust Congress to make it happen on their own. The people and the states need to get involved, and the best way to do that is through a Convention of States.
