For several years I heard people talk about this thing called “Convention of States.” It was an interesting concept, but I didn’t put much, if any, effort into learning more. It was simply easier for me to do what I had always done: support conservative candidates who shared my values in hopes they would get elected and “fix” a broken system. Unfortunately, the “fix” never happened and the problem kept getting bigger.
After this past election, I took a serious look at this thing called “Convention of States.” I learned more about the Constitution– learned more about the vision our founding fathers had for this country and became a true believer that Convention of States was the solution to the very big problem of a government gone rampant. I had been guilty of doing the very thing I always preached against: doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Now as a volunteer with Convention of States (Texas HD5), I am appreciative of the professionalism and organization this movement adheres to. The training videos and support tools are stellar. Every person I deal with is positive, no time to blame others. This “army” of volunteers all work toward the same goals.
Convention of States is a perfect example how one person can affect another person and another and another. Thank you, Convention of States, for allowing volunteers like me to use my God-given talents to achieve goals that will better our great United States.
