Dear Friends and Supporters:
We hope you are enjoying this festive season of lights, parties, and family gatherings as Americans celebrate their favorite traditions during this special time of the year. This holiday season also ushers in renewed hope to restore freedom of speech, law and order, and greater prosperity and security for you and your family, as well as for our nation.
In recent years, we’ve experienced political and culture upheavals that often-created divisions within families and friends. For many, it has been an emotional and exhausting ordeal. Indeed, we deserve a moment to rest, collectively unite, and give thanks to our founding fathers for gifting us this amazing and resilient Republic.
Our Work Is Not Done. However, there is still much work to be done. While the new administration aims to disrupt the centralized federal government, a future administration can just as easily reverse this progress. Hence, the need for a permanent solution remains with Article V of the U.S. Constitution, enabling the people to propose amendments at a Convention of States. Thus far, 19 states have passed the COS Resolution, which puts us over the halfway mark to hold a convention. In the days ahead, we will once again seek your support to help get the resolution passed in Connecticut.
Fortunately, the winds of change are in our favor. Many of President-Elect Trump’s cabinet picks – Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, Vivek Ramaswamy, Mike Huckabee and V.P.- Elect J.D. Vance -- have endorsed the Convention of States. Their backing will brighten the spotlight on our mission to build our army of citizen support.
Prepare For Challenges. These endorsements will also make us a bigger target by those who support big, centralized government. Hence, our fortitude and strength will be called upon to amplify the truth as we continue to educate family, friends, and state representatives about the need for smaller government as prescribed by our founding fathers.
Clearly, this is an historic and exciting time to be an American! Like the “shot heard around the world” -- which launched the American Revolution -- the voices of ordinary Americans have been heard across school board meetings and town halls to inside the chambers of the U.S. Congress. We are witnessing a rebirth of the American Spirit and a renewal of faith in our dear Republic. The future of America is in the hands of grassroots citizens like you and me. We must take full advantage of this momentum!
On behalf of our entire COS-CT team, we sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and wish you and your family peace, health, and happiness over the holidays and in the exciting year ahead.
In Liberty,
Maureen Zollo, Director CT-COS
P.S. We will be in touch soon to share our legislative plans for 2025.
