How Pennsylvania can join the Convention of States movement

Published in Blog on June 13, 2019 by Steven Thomas Polgar

Convention of States Pennsylvania activists are continuing to educate our state legislators about COS for the 2019-2020 General Assembly legislative session.

Earlier this month Rep. Matt Gabler introduced the COS resolution (HR 206) in the Pennsylvania House. Its passage is now our main goal.

Although we have 25 co-sponsors for HR 206, we need many more. That is why we need your help. We need to establish a point of contact (called a District Captain) in as many state house districts as possible before the Fall when a committee vote on HR 206 is expected.

Pennsylvania state representatives and state senators need to know why 48,000 of their constituents signed the petition for a Convention of States. The best way to answer that question is in a face-to-face meeting with your state legislator.

Join the growing ranks of District Captains in Pennsylvania, who are determined to eliminate the corruption in Washington, D.C., and to extricate the tentacles of the federal government from our lives.

Jim DeMint, retired U.S. Senator and now COS Senior Advisor, explains in this video how District Captains and the volunteers they recruit and guide can convince their state legislatures to call a Convention of States.

The goal is to assign a District Captain to each of 203 legislative districts in the lower house of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The District Captains then recruit and work with volunteers to educate their state representatives. If each District Captain is able to recruit 100 volunteers, the number of activists is expanded to 20,300.

We have the petition signers. We have as many as 55 District Captains, but we need many more.

Join our team and help pass the COS resolution in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
