Hawaii Team pulls out all the stops!

Published in Blog on January 22, 2020 by Mark Kenneth White

The Hawaii Team gathered for their most important Capitol visit.  From left to right: Mark White (SD), Jack Van Osdol (Vol), Jan Tillmann (Vol), Brett Kulbis (GC), Linda Sansone (Vol), Matt Saterlee (Vol), Donna Van Osdol (FUT), Rita Kama-Kimura (Vol), Emil Svrcina (DC). Not pictured: Keola Smith (Vol).

Wednesday, January 22, marked the second, most important visit to the State Capitol for the Convention of States Hawaii team.

The 10-member group met at 1:15 p.m., split into four teams, and quickly swept through the 76 offices to distribute the most impactful documents ever presented to state legislators: handwritten postcards—over 90 notes from constituents—delivered to 24 state representatives and 17 state senators.

Petition signature listings by district, as well as copies of the 2020 House and Senate draft resolutions ready for signature, were provided to each legislator.

Red Team: Brett, Rita and Keola (far right) distributed postcards, petitions lists, and resolutions to 19 legislative offices.

Blue Team: Donna and Jack Van Osdol have become real pros at visiting their 18 assigned offices at the state capitol.

Green Team: Linda and Jan make the visiting of their 18 offices look fun and easy.

Yellow Team: Matt and Emil make a high-energy team visiting their 19 legislative offices. Leadership Team: State Director Mark White visits two offices—the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate.

Join the team at 1:15 p.m. every Wednesday through February at the Hawaii state capitol to visit your legislators' office!
