Holding School Lunch Hostage to Nutty Gender Policies

Published in Blog on July 05, 2022 by Jake Brooks

How absurd do gender policies need to get before we call it enough? How did the Democrat Party go from "protect the children" to "starve the children?" (unless they are taught government-issued radical theories)

An article in The Daily Signal sounds the alarm about radical gender policies coming from the White House. The title does a good job of explaining its compelling content: Biden Administration to Force Schools to Adopt Radical Gender Policies. School lunch funding will be denied for states and localities that "resist" conforming to these gender ideologies.

Today’s “virtue” is coming from self-anointed elites, with no introduction, no data, no knowledge, no analytics, no rationale. You’re likely being admonished by someone who has done less for the country or in life than you have. Here is the latest in a string of pronoun gibberish (imagine this being taught in school to your child) - you can’t say pregnant persons are she, because they could be a transgender he.

Please. This may be technically relevant to a few, not to most, and it’s a waste of learning time with no purpose or community benefit. In a debate of responsible adults, the she would win as best answer to address a pregnant person without breaking a sweat or raising a voice.

Most people ignore this kind of nonsense only to find out later that this nonsense is being embedded in their child’s school curriculum without their knowledge, rightfully feeling betrayed.

For perspective, according to a 2021 Gallup poll, gender statistics tell us that total LBGTQ+ is 7.5% of the US population.

pie chart LGBTQ+
The dominant element of LBGTQ+ is bi-sexuals, at over half, essentially indistinguishable from the general population unless they choose to brag about it. Gays and lesbians together are another big component.

At a very small but loud percentage, transgenders represent less than 1% of us. With no explanation, our common language is changed in arbitrary ways, school bathroom gender rules become a mess, and women’s competitive sports are turned upside down.

If respecting and integrating transgender students in school is the objective, these changes and the process to make them are not the answer. Enough.

On the more serious side of this, we are increasingly undermining our children with a fusillade of poorly crafted changes in our schools, which then hollow out a child’s forming confidence. We can’t allow these things:

  • Denying students critical skills in math, reading and civics
  • Injecting critical theories and revisionist history
  • Wasting education time harping on trivial issues like pronouns
  • Alienating children from parents, church, and country
  • Poisoning their gender and race identity
  • Ruining competitive sports for girls
  • Overcrowding schools with illegal immigrants

All this on top of refusing to teach them at school for one to two years during a pandemic and still masking their faces at school unnecessarily.

Over the last few decades, anti-American educators have gained control in prominent universities, then gained ground in high schools, and now even  target elementary schools. This is an increasing risk to our children and to our national culture. Our young are also experiencing unprecedented school shootings and death from drugs like fentanyl.

This administration’s "non-learning” activity gets priority, even as we dive precipitously into our global competition for developing the best and brightest, in the sciences, math and manufacturing trades.

We can’t allow any administration to enable, much less promote, such divisive and destructive ideas and policies ravaging our children, our most precious resource.

What do we do when our federal government ignores the people and pushes destructive policies through our public institutions?

We know based on years of research and grassroots development that the single best way to fix this is through an Article V Convention of States. In fact, it may be the only practical way to gain control of government overreach.

The good news is that we’re more than halfway there: 19 of the 34 state legislatures needed have already passed the Convention of States Resolution, and the country as a whole is becoming increasingly aware of the need for some way to regain control of the federal government bureaucracy.

Realizing our design for a well-focused, consensus building Convention of States will improve our ability to engage and influence our federal government’s priorities. It will realign We the People and the Constitution.
