Happy Independence Day from Convention of States Missouri

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated." - Thomas Paine 

In "The Crisis," Thomas Paine captured the state of a new nation. Paine passionately argued that if we were to be victorious in gaining our independence from Britain, we must act decisively.

Time was of the essence and time was not on the Continental Army's side. They were faced with battling an opposing force that was better trained, better equipped, better organized, and better funded.

The life of a soldier in the Continental Army was difficult under the best of circumstances. Winter was fast-approaching and the conviction of these patriots was about to be tested further. Those who stood and fought were truly committed to the principle of freedom. 

This is where we stand now. We are battling a formidable foe. One that is well-funded, well-organized, and well-trained. The threat to freedom and liberty is every bit as serious as it was in 1776. Each of you have decided to stand up and be counted. You have decided the cause of freedom and defending the Constitution is too precious to sit idly by while it continues to erode. 

Our team continues to grow. Leaders continue to step forward. You have earned the love and thanks of man and woman.

Signing our petition is an important first step. I ask you to consider taking the next step. Be an active, engaged leader in the Convention of States Project. Each of you have a unique set of skills and talents. Whether you have an hour a day, an hour a week, an hour a month or an hour a year, there is a place for you in the COS family.

We have a powerful support structure of servant leaders to ensure you have the tools and the resources to be effective advocates for liberty. I encourage you to take full advantage of these resources.
