In a new poll from Gallup, Americans ranked “dissatisfaction with government” and “healthcare” as the top two problems facing this nation today.
And is it any surprise? While the national media obsesses over whatever soap opera dramatics they perceive (or make up) in the White House, the American people focus their white hot anger on Congress.
This is the same Congress and the same leadership, for the most part, that promised to tear out Obamacare “root and branch.” They delivered that legislation to President Obama’s desk multiple times, where it died. Apparently they knew and desired that outcome because when the chance came to put the exact same legislation on President Trump’s desk (a President who would sign it) they balked.
It is the obligation of all elected officials to prevent the crash of the American health care system by returning it to the free market principles that work. Those who refuse to lead in this regard, and those who obfuscate their support for the continued disaster by supporting “fake repeal” should pay the price.
In the end, there is only this. Congress will NEVER repeal Obamacare. But We the People can. Through a Convention of States we can remove the federal government’s authority to regulate the healthcare system. That, and only that will give us our health care system, and our government, back.
