Freedom Revival 2022

Published in Blog on January 16, 2022 by Michelle Mackey/Debra Oresko

It was such a beautiful day in San Diego for a freedom revival! The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the patriots were out in full force. The ocean air was cool and fresh, and the view of the bay was amazing.

Rusty Robinson, District Captain of House District 75 for Convention of States California, sent out a request for volunteers to help man a booth on January 8, 2022, at the Waterfront Park in San Diego, California. The Freedom Revival brought together thousands of individuals in search of their God-given freedom.

It was an event that represented multiple counties in Southern California, so my dad Steve Mackey (District Captain for House District 60 and Veterans Coalition Director for Region 11) and I decided to volunteer with this event and represent Riverside County.

Before we could complete set up of the booth, we already had concerned citizens wanting to learn more about Article V and the process of a Convention of States. A Convention of States is called when 34 states pass the resolution and then elect delegates to represent them at the convention. States can send as many delegates as they like, but each state gets only one vote.

By the time the event officially started at noon, we had already received 20 petition signatures.

We were later joined by Debra Oresko (District Captain Team Member for House District 55 and State Media Liaison), Jill Norris (State Content Writer), and Michael Summers (District Captain, House District 79) which was a blessing as our booth was quite busy.

In this video Debra Oresko gives us a quick tour of the event.

By the end of the day, we had over 100 petition signatures. That was not enough, so Jill and I decided to go network with other organizations at the rally and then walk around amongst the thousands in attendance. Overall, we had gained 129 petition signatures at the close of the revival.

It was truly an amazing event. The guest speakers and music were terrific along with the many individuals we educated on Article V and Convention of States. We honestly thought we were going to run out of print material petitions for people to sign!

There is not much (if any) media attention brought to events like this one. But do not be fooled by what they try to tell you. People are hungry for information on what they can do to make help our country get back to she once was, constitutionally. So, we fed them some Article V a little Convention of States and left them feeling full.
