Today the Convention of States Project announces the hiring of former Georgia state representative, Delvis Dutton, who will be a regional director for legislative affairs.
Delvis served as state representative for the 157th House district in Georgia for four years and ran for Congress in Georgia’s 12th District in 2014. He is a constitutional conservative and has been studying Article V for more than three years. Additionally, Dutton attended the first, ‘Assemblies of the State Legislatures’ meeting at Mt. Vernon in December 2013, which included more than 100 state legislators discussing Article V and the Constitution.
“We are eager to have Delvis Dutton join the Convention of States Project national team,” said Mark Meckler, co-founder of the Convention of States Project and President of Citizens for Self-Governance. “Having a former state legislator as part of the national team will be instrumental in boosting our communication and education efforts among state legislators. As a former state legislator, Delvis brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will reinforce our national expertise, bridge our legislative communications and education efforts, and provide first-hand experience to our national leadership team.”

Article V applications have already been passed in Alaska, Florida and Georgia. We stand ready with 32 Prime Sponsors to pass this year and hope to meet the 34 state requirement by the end of 2015.
