Focus on Freedom Summer Rhode Island Rally

Published in Blog on August 02, 2021 by Michelle Grimaldi

In Warwick, RI, Old Glory waved, and patriotic music resounded, electrifying the atmosphere. So too did the crackle of lightning and the threat of rain. The scene was symbolic of our times and called to mind the first Revolutionary battle shots fired, 70 miles North of Rocky Point Park.

An air of cordiality and affection was palpable at the event. A collective interest in our nation's well-being fostered a gathering of close to a hundred partakers. Included in the ranks were young people in their 20s to folks in their 80s.

Many curiosity seekers were introduced to Convention of States Action and several signed our petition. Notes were also signed, to be delivered to legislatures in our state.

Tara Levasseur RI EC, a young mother of two children, describes herself as non-partisan. She appreciates the freedoms protected by the American Constitution and Bill of Rights. Building our grassroots army in order to place the government where it duly belongs, the American people, was an incentive for her coordinating the Focus on Freedom Rally Event.

Uncertainty about issues such as property rights, ideology taught in public schools and freedom of speech is an occasion for unity in calling for a Convention of States, she related. Listeners were made aware that COSA is one hope for reining in government that has clearly gone off the rails.

"Constitutional protections such as Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness, are what should be taught at schools, not CRT," Allen Waters proclaimed. Waters is an African-American financial advisor, who ran in the 2020 election for Rhode Island’s First Congressional District. He added that capitalism and free enterprise, not big government, are the elements that make our country productive and strong.

Bob Lancia referenced Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Bob served as a U.S. Navy chaplain for 17 years and as a RI Representative from 2015-2018. He lamented, concerning the 30 trillion-dollar debt that the federal government has created in our country. He implied that career politicians don’t mind spending the fruits of our labor.

Grave concern about federal government overreach attracted a Providence area public school teacher to the COSA rally, “Parents are outraged at their children, as young as kindergarten through high school age, being introduced to sexual orientation issues in class.” She shared how covert techniques are offered to teachers in order to breach these parental concerns.

Bill Dudek and Mark Brumbaugh on behalf of americasfrontlinedocs.com shared how the Pharmaceutical Companies and the FDA are working on each other’s behalf and not in the best interest of the American people: Doctors are being repressed from giving patients early treatments. Doctors who prescribed hydroxychloroquine, an inexpensive and effective therapeutic, have had their license threatened. The question is why? Doctors Dudek and Brumbaugh asserted business and federal agencies seem to have the reason, but the American people do not.

Amy Gardnier spoke on behalf of Health Choice RI. She is working to alert Rhode Islanders about impending threats to their medical rights. HCRI’s aim is to help residents better understand issues and engage them so that they may safeguard their autonomy.

People have a duty to voice their authority and not to yield to dictatorial voices. It is the absolute call of the people if we will wear masks or not. She warns our freedoms are very much at stake. Aimee compels everyone’s involvement at the local level in order to resist radical impositions in our schools.

The Convention of States Action movement in Rhode Island aims to bring awareness to our communities. Decisions on how we live should be made by government bodies closest to us, WE THE PEOPLE. Big government and big business are not to decide how we live and think.
