Calling all patriots!
Freedom in Hawaii received great news today. For the first time ever, the Senate version (SR16/SCR33) of our Convention of States resolution will be heard in Hawaii.
The Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs Committee in Hawaii's Senate, chaired by our primary sponsor Clarence Nishihara, will hold a hearing at 1:30pm HST on Thursday, March 8, Room 229 at the state capitol.

This is our nation's last, best hope to stop federal overreach and restore the federal system designed by the Constitution. Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives us that power.
It's time to make your voice heard.
Your testimony in support of these resolutions is needed now. All testimonies must be submitted by 1:30pm on Wednesday, March 7, 24 hours prior to the hearing in order to be considered.
Testimonies can be any length. Write from your heart and always be respectful.
If you are planning on going down to testify in person, be aware that there may be a time limit. It could be two minutes or even just one minute.
Here is a guide on How to submit testimony.
Suggested talking points you can use in your written testimony.
- We don’t want bureaucrats 4000 miles away in DC making decision for Hawaii.
- We don't want our children and grand children enslaved by a $20 trillion national debt.
- Washington, D.C., is broken, no matter which party is in power. Convention of States is the only remedy left to the states and the people to restore our constitutional republic.
- Let's put teeth back into the Tenth Amendment and give states the authority they were always meant to have in our Constitution.
- We must limit the size, scope and jurisdiction of our out of control federal government.
- Let's get back to first principles of the Constitution and put the States back in charge.
- We'd rather have our state government making decisions for Hawaii instead of Washington.
- Congress and the federal government will never curtail its own power willingly.
- Every republic in human history has collapsed because of a central government grown too tyrannical, too large, and too disconnected from the people to stop its fiscal irresponsibility.
We'll be gathering in the rotunda (ground floor) at the capitol.
Everyone is asked to attend and present testimony in person at 1:00pm, then we'll head up to Room 229 at approximately 1:15pm.
