Fighting for the Constitution through Convention of States

Published in Blog on June 08, 2020 by Michaela Prchlik

Wally Hauck, Ph.D., is a Certified Speaking Professional who runs his own consulting firm (Optimum Leadership) in Milford, Connecticut.

Wally grew up in Armonk, New York, and moved to Connecticut in 1978 to work at the American Can Company of Greenwich, Connecticut.

When the company was sold in the late 1980s, he left and began to work for himself. In 1995 he launched his current consulting practice, working with the leadership in small to mid-sized companies to improve their essential leadership skills. His clients are primarily in the northeast, but he also works with executives all over the country.

Wally earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Business Administration from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, and his Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Warren National University.

He has been married to his wife Lori for 29 years and has three children and four grandchildren. The youngest arrived just four weeks ago during the height of the COVID-19 quarantine.

Wally was introduced to the Convention of States movement through Mark Levin. He read Levin’s book The Liberty Amendments and heard him speaking about COS on his radio show.

What was it about Convention of States that struck a chord with Wally?

“The Constitution has been under attack for years," he said. "Without it, our country will become something none of us want. I decided it was time for me to do what I could to protect the Constitution.”

Wally signed up to volunteer with COS in Connecticut almost two years ago. Soon after, he was communicating with State Director Richard Legg. He was immediately made the District Captain for House District 119, which includes the town of Milford.

Wally will be the first to admit that developing a COS district in Connecticut is slow going.

“It’s like water dripping on a stone," he said. "Just like the water, however, we will make progress against the hard surface of ignorance about the Constitution in our state. It is slow going, but we will win!”
