No one can deny federal spending is out of control -- the numbers are there for everyone to see. So why don't our elected leaders do something about it?
They refuse to act because money buys them votes, and votes give them power, and they won't willingly limit their power.
That's why, no matter how deep the fiscal hole becomes, we can't trust Washington to limit the debt or balance the budget. Fortunately, there is a way we, the people, can force Congress to be fiscally responsible.
A Convention of States can propose a balanced budget amendment that would require Congress to stay in the black. Every responsible American balances their budget -- our Congressmen should be forced to do the same with our tax money.
Unless we do something soon, our children and grandchildren will be burdened with economic hardship their entire lives. It's time the American people stood up and said, "Enough is enough."
