East Oregon Seeks Divorce from Abusive Communists

Published in Blog on August 12, 2021 by Will T. Zwart

Once upon a time, in the far west of America in 1859, the rough country of Oregon became the thirty-third state to join the Union. It was a time of great upheaval, as the Civil War was just two years away and the battle lines were already forming. Now, 162 years later, a cold civil war is on the rise in America, and the people of Oregon are rising with it.

As their so-called representatives literally kneel to mobs of rioting Marxists in cities such as Portland, many East Oreganians are fed up with having their interests disregarded, their values mocked, and their voices silenced, so they've got a plan. Five counties are now attempting to join with the freer state of Idaho, expanding the Gem State and more importantly, reclaiming representative government.

Many other Americans find they, too, have been tossed by the wayside, their lives controlled by big-city bureaucrats far away. California is ruled by Los Angeles, Chicago dominates Illinois, and Maryland is under Baltimore's thumb.

The Founders wanted to prevent such elitist rule at the federal level, so they created the electoral college. But what of the States? We've been conditioned to believe the government holds the keys to the kingdom, but in these times, many people are waking up and realizing the power is in the hands of the people. We control our government. Our lives make their lives possible. Their authority is granted to them by us, and we can take it away!

The patriots of East Oregon are throwing off their despotic government, and have inspired others to do the same.

For years, patriots in California have been silenced, ruled over by socialist bureaucrats who wield their authority like a whip. But now, those who have been beaten down are rising up, and a good portion of Northern California wants to join with Idaho as well.

Americans all over the country are asking, "Why should the few command the many? Why do the elites think they're so untouchable?" These questions are being answered by people in East Oregon and Northern California, who strive to separate themselves from their corrupt leadership as a wife would divorce an abusive and negligent husband.

This policy of "Big City Divorce" should be supported by both sides of the aisle, as the only individuals it hurts are administrative thugs who want all the power, money, and pleasure for themselves. After all, West Virginia split from Virginia because it did not support slavery. Perhaps the Old Line state should look to draw some new lines. Say, something like this?

The states can wrest control away from the federal government with a solution found in Article V of the U.S. Constitution, namely, calling a Convention of States to propose amendments to the Constitution to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, to impose fiscal restraints, and to impose term limits on federal officials, including Congress.  Some in Maryland don't believe we can call a Convention of States, as our efforts will be blocked by all the red tape pouring from Baltimore and the shameless gerrymandering of our districts. They make a valid point, as every COS resolution in Maryland has died in committee. Big City Divorce could give it life.

If the people in Eastern and Northern Maryland, who currently have no voice in their government, were to provide new guards for their future security by joining with West Virginia, or even creating a state of our own, the Free State could once again be free, and proudly add her name to the very first Article V convention to take back our country!

OCS Maryland's 50K Race to Liberty is aimed to add 25,000 petition signed by the end of the year.  Join with thousands of other Marylanders in our 50K Race to Liberty, and pledge to obtain at least three other signers.  We have a country to save.
