President Ronald Reagan warned us that our freedom is only one generation away from extinction! Will we be that generation that allows that to happen? Or will we be the generation that stands up and fights for that freedom like our Forefathers did for us?
2 Corinthians 1:8 “..all the hardships we passed through crushed us beyond our ability to endure. We were so completely overwhelmed that we were about to give up entirely. It has taught us to lose all faith in ourselves and to place all our trust in the God who raises the dead.”
The apostle Peter called these trials and hardships we go through “more precious than gold because they build endurance which builds character,” 1 Peter 1:7.
God spoke to the apostle Paul and said “my strength is made perfect in weakness,” 2 Corinthians 12:9.
As with individuals so with nations, we can be thankful for the hardships we are going through right now because when all else fails “nothing is impossible for God,” Luke 1:37. Right now God is building endurance and character in His people because many of us have been sitting on the sidelines enjoying “the American dream.”
This is a wake-up call from heaven telling us “NOT TO TRUST OURSELVES and to place ALL OUR TRUST IN GOD who raises the dead,” (i.e. takes what seems beyond recovery and brings it back to life!)
Imagine living in a land that for 50 years enjoyed the prosperity and blessing of God under a wise and godly king. And then imagine all that being wiped away overnight. What would your thoughts be? The nation of Israel and the prophet Isaiah faced such a situation at the death of Uzziah the king. And this is what God showed him, not new kings and rulers but, “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, and His robe filled the temple,” Isaiah 6:1.
The answer to peace and stability, freedom in a nation does not depend on kings or rulers. They will come and go. But as Isaiah saw, God rules on the throne in heaven overall!
Politics and politicians will not save this nation! What we need is a 2 Chronicles 7:14 revival: “If My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Before this becomes a reality for our nation it must begin in us. “For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household,” 1 Peter 4:17. We must set the example and precedence.
A call for an Article V Convention of States can restore us as a nation back to the original intent of the form of self-government that our Founding Fathers left us.
“We the People” can be restored back to the “one nation under God” concept we were founded on!
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness. . . . The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them.” – George Washington
