Convention of States Louisiana has done it again; we’re making headway and gaining volunteers. On Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, a team of volunteers set up a booth at the Classic Arms Productions Gun and Knife Show at the Bossier Civic Center. Working the booth were the State Grassroots Coordinator, Julie Sandifer, and District Captains, Don Maddox, Patrick Bennett, and Aaron Flippo.
Our volunteers explained COS and the Article V Convention of States proposals to attendees with rewarding results. Fellow concerned citizens signed the COS petition at a rate of one every 33 minutes. Over half of the petition signers also expressed a desire to become volunteers.
New District Captain, Aaron Flippo, said of his first experience working a gun show, “It’s a lot more effective than I thought it would be. Most people have never heard that amendments can be proposed by a convention of states through the state legislatures.”
It's imperative that we get the word out whenever possible and continue to be present at events across our state and support others across our nation. There is much work to be done as we press forward to realize our vision for a Convention of States: build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists.
