COS GA Challenges Cobb Republican Efforts to Pass Anti-Convention of States Resolution

Published in Blog on May 25, 2021 by Margaret Bond

Earlier this week, we received an alert that Cobb County Republican Party was going to be holding a meeting to pass a number of resolutions, including one that explicitly opposes an Article V Convention of States. Quite a bit of misinformation is being provided about the topic.

The proposed resolution states that an Article V Convention “would be disastrous” and is “not necessary.” Additionally, it claims that both Democrats and Republicans in Congress would use the Convention to tear apart the Constitution and eliminate the 1st and 2nd Amendments.

The meeting is set to be held on Saturday, May 29, 10 am.  It will be located at Cobb GOP Headquarters, 799 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

COS GA is calling on all patriots, especially those living in Cobb County, to turn up and turn out. It is time let the Cobb County Republican Party know that we are here, and we are not going away. We see what they are doing.

On a personal note: Yours truly grew up in East Cobb County in Marietta in the Sprayberry/Walton High School area. I lived there for over 20 years. I do not wish to see this become my former hometown's legacy.

COS Georgia opposes the Cobb GOP Resolution and calls on its supporters and volunteers to participate in the meeting and speak against the proposed resolution. We request that you arrive by 9 am.

If you are unable to attend in person, we request that you politely engage GOP members and ask that they oppose this legislation. We also ask you to initiate calls to others in the GOP who will be attending.
