Convention of States South Carolina leaders Jeff Kilgrene, Amy Hill, Rick Moessner, Wayne Middleton, Brian Hansen, Timmy Jordan, Rich Hefty, Chris Neely, and Richard Burgess welcomed all 275+ event attendees to the first-ever Rock the Red USA event on January 17-19.
This event capped off the first week of the of the South Carolina 2020 statehouse 123rd session. This first week is notable, because eight new cosponsors joined in the house to our H3125 Resolution for a total of 38. This is the most ever in the seven years we have been promoting COS.
We currently have 19 senate cosponsors on our senate resolution (S112) and expect to add more this session.
Our goal this year is to join the 15 states who have passed the same resolution to:
"MAKE APPLICATION TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO CALL A CONVENTION FOR PROPOSING AMENDMENTS PURSUANT TO ARTICLE V OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION LIMITED TO PROPOSING AMENDMENTS THAT IMPOSE
FISCAL RESTRAINTS ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,
LIMIT THE POWER AND JURISDICTION OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AND
LIMIT THE TERMS OF OFFICE FOR ITS OFFICIALS AND FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS."
