Convention of States at Oktoberfest roundup

Published in Blog on October 21, 2018 by Silver Dreaming Wolf

For the second year in a row, Convention of States New York sponsored a booth at our local Oktoberfest on Staten Island. This event is sponsored by the Marine Corps. League of Staten Island, and several Rotary Clubs.

It was a dreary day with rain, freezing temperatures, and winds topping 25mph, but we bundled up and remained vigilant at our booth.

Even with the bad weather, we managed to secure 22 signed petitions. Several people stopped by who had previously signed to thank us for our dedication to the Constitution and the rule of law. That warmed us greatly on this cold day.

We also were able to interact with the representatives of the local Rotary Clubs, which were impressed by both our dedication and our cause.

This was a boon we did not let pass us by. After several conversations we also secured promises of future presentations at each and every Rotary Club on Staten Island. They even invited us to host a booth at all of their upcoming events!

The Marine Corps League also invited us back to do a presentation to their members and would love for us to host booths at all their upcoming events as well.

It was a good day all around.

I'd like to personally thank my freezing, suffering volunteer Ms. Janis L. Gregory for her dedication to Convention of States New York. Even with a full time job that works her day and night, she always finds time to help out at events. She is the what I like to call the "perfect Volunteer." No job or event is too big or too small for her to dedicate her time and effort.

We look forward to many more events in the coming months and hope to recruit more and more patriots to our cause.
