Oregon is the ninth largest of the states, covering an area of almost 100,000 square miles, which means it is somewhat challenging to have a state-wide team meeting.
This made our recent Oregon team meet-up in Eugene extra significant, despite the stereotypical rainy weather.
Team members travelled from different areas of the State to meet in person, many for the first time. Stories and introductions were traded over lunch at the aptly named Killer Burgers restaurant.
Team members came from as far north as Astoria, as far south as Grants pass, and from across the Cascade mountains in Eastern Oregon.
Jackie Burns, Oregon State Director, summed it up when she said "phone calls and Zoom meetings are fine, but relationships are formed when people meet face to face."
The plan now is to hold regular meet-ups in different regions of the state and to combine them with informational meetings that will be open to all supporters and the general public.
