The Convention of States Maryland team needs your help in a mass show of support at our online hearing with Maryland legislators on Monday, March 15.
As citizens concerned for the future of our country, we want to bring power back to the states and the people, where it belongs.
Please show your support for reining in the federal government by attending our hearing in the Rules and Executive Nominations Committee. This is a crucial first step towards getting the Convention of States resolution to the full House floor for a debate and subsequent passing in the Maryland House of Delegates.
You can watch the hearing live on the Maryland General Assembly’s House Rules YouTube channel. When the committee is in session, you will see a live stream on the MGA-HRU channel. If possible, please leave favorable comments in support of HJ6 while viewing.
Your attendance will send an immensely important message to the committee. While our state delegates may not be able to see or hear you, they are keenly aware of and track the number of citizens who attend/watch these hearings.
We urge you to set aside some time to attend, as it is streamed lived from the Maryland House of Delegates in Annapolis.
The committee's docket of legislative hearings begins at 9:30 a.m. There are several bills and resolutions on the docket. Ours is HJ6 (click on the meetings tab for the list). We do not know exactly when or the order the legislation will be asked to testify. We hope you will log on and check every so often to catch our Convention of States testimony.
If getting to Annapolis is difficult for you, this may be the easiest time for you to show your support.
Please spread the word that on March 15, the COS Maryland all-volunteer team is testifying to have Maryland join the 15 states that have already passed the COS application to protect our freedom by proposing amendments to the U.S. Constitution that limit the power of the federal government.
Encourage your friends and family to attend the online committee hearing and join us, as we send a message to our delegates in Annapolis and our legislators in D.C.
