Convention of States President to visit Hawaii

Published in Blog on September 10, 2018 by Mark Kenneth White

Mark Meckler founded Citizens for Self-Governance and co-founded Convention of States Project in August of 2013.

For the first time ever, the organization's president will visit America's 50th state: Hawaii.

Arriving the first week of October, Mark Meckler's busy two-day, three-night schedule includes meetings with three coalitions, visits with legislators, media interviews, and COS Hawaii team gatherings.

The highlight of his visit will be a town hall "Talk Story" event on Thursday, October 4, 6:30pm at the Oahu Veterans Center in Foster Village (1298 Kukila St.)

Learn how ordinary citizens--working with state legislatures--can reduce the size, scope, and jurisdiction of today's intrusive federal government. Mark Meckler will present the only solution as big as the problem followed by an extensive question-and-answer session with the audience.

The event is free and open to the public. Seating may be limited, so please register.

Some past and present legislative sponsors may also attend and offered these endorsements:

  Former State Senator Sam Slom
"I was honored to be one of the first sponsors for Convention of States during my time in the Senate."

  State Senator Glenn Wakai
"I believe in empowering the public, this is why I support the Convention of States. Good government comes from amplifying the voice of every citizen in America."

State Senator Breene Harimoto
"I'm looking forward to sponsoring the Convention of States resolution again in the 2019 session."

  State Representative Sam Kong
"For the sake of our kids' futures, let's use the authority given us as state legislators to bring the federal government under control."

Join the growing movement in Hawaii and nationwide to limit big government and bring power from Washington, D.C., back to the states where it originated in the first place.
