Convention of States mission rolling along in South Dakota

Published in Blog on May 10, 2021 by Jackie Rausch

The voice of American patriotism is loud and clear, and you can hear it resounding in small town celebrations across the country.

South Dakota COS patriots participated in the their first parade of the year, Brandon's 55th Annuals Loyalty Day Parade on Sunday May 2, 2021.

“The parade theme was 'celebrating freedom' so the Convention of States group was a great match," said Vicky Buhr, COS district captain. "There were so many people out to enjoy the festivities even though the weather was a bit dreary."

The group consisted of longtime COS team members as well as new volunteers. Nicole Hanson, a new face to the grassroots army, said this was her first parade to promote Convention of States.

“It was great!” said Nicole. “We had tons of fun walking in the parade for a great message with great COS friends.”

Many people waved and shouted as the COS banners drove past during the parade.

"We need to have a Convention of States to protect and preserve our country for our kids," said Nicole. "So they have the America they deserve. That's why I'm out here."

The parade was organized by Three Rivers VFW Post 4726 and American Legion Post 318.
