Michigan will be represented
Convention of States Foundation is sponsoring a simulated Article V convention August 2 - 4, 2023, in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, where representatives of 49 states will act as commissioners to perform a test run of an Article V convention for proposing constitutional amendments. Michigan will be represented by Jaime Greene and Steven Johnson.
Jaime Greene is a freshman Representative from Richmond, Michigan (House District 65). A lifelong resident of Monroe County, she is a wife, a mother, a veteran, and a fierce advocate for educational freedom and medical choice.
Steven Johnson served three terms as a Michigan House Representative from 2017-2022. During his time in office, he represented voters in West Michigan. Johnson serves as a Fellow at the Center for Practical Federalism and resides in western Michigan with his wife.
Convention of States Foundation hosted the first-ever simulated Article V Convention in 2016. This second simulated Article V convention (for proposing amendments to the constitution) is to demonstrate to the nation that this process offers a meaningful solution to the dysfunction in Washington, D.C. With public confidence in DC at an all-time low, the time is right for this to happen.
The Simulation allows the state delegations including Greene and Johnson to test a set of model convention rules crafted by the world’s leading Article V scholars, Robert Natelson and Michael Farris.
The simulation will be live-streamed on Friday, August 4, 2023, on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Rumble. Sign up here to join family, friends, and community to witness history in the making!
