A trend is building all around Colorado, and across the entire United States. People who never cared a fig about politics are suddenly stepping up and taking action. Convention of States is a Constitutional remedy for all that ails our beautiful country, and COS volunteers are finding it easier and easier to introduce COS into everyday conversations. Here are some talking points to remember as you engage with people:
Convention of States is not political; it is American. Regardless of your party affiliation, there’s something for everyone to love about COS. You don’t need to use the “R” or “D” words when bringing up COS in conversation because any party member can understand a shared desire to end tyranny and protect our sovereign rights from an overreaching government.
Everybody’s got a beef; listen, then respond accordingly. Every American, no matter who they voted for, has at least one thing they’re unhappy about when it comes to government. It might be forced masking, vaccine mandates, unfair mitigation burdens on business owners, frustration with excessively complicated tax laws, or a lack of clear communication and action. Whatever it is, if you get people talking, then it’s easy to find common ground among their frustrations, and to suggest COS as a powerful people-driven solution to their biggest pet peeves.
Remember we are all Americans. We don’t have to agree on everything in order to move forward and effect change. When someone shares their opinion that differs from yours, instead of getting agitated, see if you can just listen first without judgment. Ask questions to learn more about why they think the way they do, and where they find their information.
Part of today’s problem is that people have to make their side “right” and the other side “wrong,” which eliminates any potential for finding common ground. Take a breath and remember we are all Americans, and we can work together with Article V to save our country from government suppression.
We are a growing force of Americans dedicated to take on the problems We the People face in America today. Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives us direction for addressing many of the root cause issues we see every day on the news.
As more and more people wake up to the underlying reasons for so many of the problems in our country, these same people are more inspired than ever to take action against tyranny. The next time you’re engaged in conversation and the other person names something they don’t like about the state of our union or the current administration, you can simply say, “I know a solution for that, would you like to hear about it?” and you’ve got an opening into the most natural conversation in the world about Convention of States. Try it today!
