The Connecticut team held a cookout and strategy meeting at Co-State Director Mike Goldweber’s new home in Wolcott on Saturday, August 22. In addition to the great food, we had an informative, lively discussion about the issues that citizens face today.
Many of our volunteers relayed the frustration they have heard from others. The team discussed ways to educate people on how to become citizen activists in order to stop the power grabs by both state and federal government.
Co-State Director Richard Legg informed us that Connecticut has over 12,000 petition signers and over 300 volunteers. Legislative Liaison Scott Luciani explained how a resolution works its way through the General Assembly.
We also reviewed the importance of contacting our local representatives and the positive results of good, old-fashioned handwritten letters. We were reminded to keep up with our Convention of States University courses, so we can be better equipped to provide information.
To the thrill and excitement of all, Mark Meckler, founder of Convention of States, joined us on a call to surprise Grassroots Coordinator Maureen Zollo by awarding her a Challenge Coin for her hard work and dedication to the cause of liberty in Connecticut.
The coveted Challenge coin--of which only 300 were minted--was presented to Maureen by Regional Director Monica Sellers. Congratulations, Maureen!
Everyone left the meeting feeling energized and ready for the challenge of saving our country through an Article V Convention of States.
