Not only are snow totals in Colorado breaking records, but so is the enthusiasm for Convention of States Action.
Not snowflakes, not frigid temps, nor a legislative blue tidal wave would deter 75 Article V supporters from all around the square frozen tundra to make the trek to the rally on Wednesday. COS supporters wanted to be heard and seen by the naysayers.
Unfortunately, most of the new legislators were too busy conniving on how to give away our electoral votes to New York and California to show up to the rally. On the other hand, several legislators who support an Article V convention of states did stop by the rally to encourage our citizen advocates.
Along with these legislators, we were privileged to have Article V scholar Rob Natelson as our guest speaker. He was on fire!
He gave a historical perspective on the ways the amendment process has changed the fabric of our country for the better. Example after example riled up the crowd. As a result, we gathered a dozen more petition signatures, mostly from capitol visitors who stopped by the rally unexpectedly.
This past week was a record breaker for online petition signatures. Between Monday and Thursday, we garnered almost 400 petition signatures online. The normal rate is 650 a month! This spike can be attributed to the Facebook Live pre-promotional marketing and the live post of the rally.
There were 3,860 video views and 637 post engagements on February 20th. We gained 37 new followers on the Convention of States Colorado Facebook page last week alone. That is a record number. Additionally, nine new potential District Captains have expressed an interest in joining the team. Unbelievable!
State representatives and senators received over a dozen handwritten notes penned by supporters who attended the rally and lists of the petition signers from each of their districts.
An army of liberty-loving patriots made this a record-breaking event. Thanks to all!
Now, it is time to propel Convention of States Colorado to the next level. We will grow the grassroots numbers, persuade a few of the naysayers, and get Colorado on the "Passed" leaderboard.
