Our Convention of States (COS) Team in New Jersey (NJ) has grown so much over the past 1 ½ years! We are now divided into five Regions with a Regional Captain for each. NJ has 40 Legislative Districts (LD) such that now, a Regional Captain oversees eight LDs. Additionally, our District Captains and Follow-up Team members are reaching out to numerous new supporters of COS. Many of them are taking active volunteer roles.
Tyrannical COVID restrictions nearly put an end to gatherings, but Mary Buckley, District Captain of LD10, kept the flames of liberty burning bright. Mary decided to host meetings in her home starting in March of 2021. This came after a year-long period of citizens being held back in gathering because of rules and regulations imposed in 2020. Mary's hospitality overflowed, and we enjoyed fellowship with one another.
There were also people who joined us on a live conference video during the home meeting. Core members of the COS team presented COS's work to those interested in being apart of pushing Article V of the US Constitution to enforce our natural rights!
More and more people in Mary’s district took on volunteer roles. Each month, the number of people meeting in Mary’s home grew until District 10 needed to hold their COS meeting at a church.
We always thank our State Videographer, Don MacLeay, for the support he provides to us with his cameras! He prepared a video of the main speakers from the last District 10 meeting in Brick, NJ. Church.
Elder Tom led with encouragement to reach out to our churches and make COS known to the congregants. At the very end of the meeting, Anthony, an 86-year-old Veteran, stood up to address our group. He stated he will fight for liberty for the sake of our country, soldiers now in the service, his children, grand and great-grandchildren! Both men’s contributions were spontaneous.
Please enjoy the video D10 Open Meeting in Brick NJ. All the speakers share their experiences and the deep convictions that brought them to work together in COS. They also discuss volunteer sign-up and how to reach out to NJ Legislators.
NJ Central East Hosts Our State Strategy Meetings
One of our long-standing COS team members from NJ Central East, Tara Fleming, has graciously hosted our Quarterly NJ COS Strategy meetings in her home for years.
We are extremely thankful to Tara (who is also a Regional Captain) for being a generous hostess for such a long time. Each quarter, the number in attendance grows at our strategy meetings. At our last session in April 2021, we met with almost 60 volunteers and visitors, a record for New Jersey.
