Bobby Mills is a District Captain for Convention of States Action in Louisiana.
By trade, he is a mechanical engineer in the HVAC industry. He is a husband and father of five young children who recently stepped up his political activism to preserve the nation he loves for his children’s future.
For most of his adult life, he has been an occasional voter. Around 2015 he became aware of the convention of states feature of Article V. This provision assumes that there must be an alternate provision in the case of a corrupt Congress.
In July of 2022, he began to look more seriously into the merits of this tool and sought out how he might be able to apply his assets in pursuit of national restoration.
He had come to recognize that the vast majority of political officials, especially at the federal level, had something else in mind, rather than furthering the cause of liberty.
In his quest for answers, he found the Convention of States website, signed the petition, and checked that he was interested in volunteering.
He then received calls from John O’Dell and Van Walter who encouraged him to sign up for a volunteer position through the “Take Action" page on the Convention of States website.
He didn’t know much about volunteering at the time, but he attended the Louisiana state calls, listened to the discussions, and watched Convention of States webinars.
After reading further about the leadership roles on the “Take Action page," he felt drawn to the District Captain position.
He signed up to be captain of District #65 in October of 2022. The duties and objectives fit nicely into the nature of his talents, and he has embraced nearly every aspect of engagement as a DC.
He enjoys bouncing ideas off of his acquaintances and engaging with new people. He is encouraged by the ideas and perceptions of those with whom he discusses the future of our nation and how its course might be corrected.
When asked how he is able to navigate DC duties into his busy schedule as an engineer, husband, and father, he says, “Fifteen minutes at a time.” He loves spreading the message of self-governance to others using the Follow-up Tool.
Reading the “Federalist Papers” and the “Anti-federalist Papers” has helped him to better understand the nature and purposes of our constitutional republic. This understanding has prompted a hunger for civic activism.
In answer to my question about what advice he would offer to other aspiring District Captains, he said, “Do something.”
COS Action offers many ways for ordinary Americans to apply their resources and talents. We should all seek where and how we might best apply ourselves to the restoration of this great nation. No one can do it for us; we must determine to what extent we are enabled by God to contribute and apply ourselves.
As former President John Quincy Adams once said, “Duty is ours; results are God’s.”
Bobby proves that everyone is crucial in the effort to save our nation.
