“A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others.”
~ Salvador Dali
To help federal employees inspire us (or maybe as an employee benefit), three departments spent $421,008 of our money to buy paint and artist brushes for their employees.
This is an employee benefit but we don’t know how many hours of employee time were used to inspire the employees (so that cost is not included).
Three departments (Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Homeland Security) wasted $163,636, $149,556, and $98,816 of our money on art supplies (paint and brushes).
The money was spent in the Fed's annual shopping spree of September 2018 to utilize all the unused amounts in the respective department’s budget instead of losing the funds.
Federal Fritters like this are not inspiring, yet it is a disservice to art and the nation.
Stay tuned to our Blogs to know more about how your government is frittering away your money.
