Arizona headed for Williamsburg

Published in Blog on May 29, 2019 by Michael Jason Alexander

LaChance portraitAs Convention of States organizers are busy making plans for the first-ever COS Leadership Summit this August, members of state leadership teams all across the country are making their own preparations.

Few are more excited in anticipation of attending this historic event in Colonial Williamsburg than Arizona’s District Captain for LD 14, Daniel D. LaChance.

Dan is looking forward to the opportunity to meet face-to-face with some of our national spokespeople, as well as team leaders from states around the nation.

Hailing originally from Munich, Germany, where his dad served in the U.S. Army, Dan now lives in Sierra Vista and serves members and volunteers in four counties in southeastern Arizona, two of which share our state and international border with Mexico.

It should come as no surprise that Dan is very passionate about his support and advocacy for the Convention of States movement. In addition to hoping for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, he has some specific goals in mind:

“I intend to go (to Williamsburg) and advocate for the resources that we need at the District Captain level to accomplish the mission,” he said.

“I also hope to present a Legislative District structure, including Team Mission Statements, Training Requirements, and Resource Requirements in order to efficiently and effectively organize, coordinate and operate inside the legislative district where the rubber meets the road.

“It’s not enough to just talk about saving the republic," he continued, "we must all get engaged... deeply and personally engaged. We must be informed, educated, and continue to grow our COS grassroots teams all across this country.

"We must build and sustain an enduring set of goals and capabilities, not just to get our resolutions passed, but to continue to engage our political representatives at all levels of governance. For our families, our cities, our states and our country.

"Never again should we allow politicians at any level to become so powerful and corrupt that through our inaction and their self-enriching schemes we surrender our country to them."

COS AZ LogoHard to argue with any of that. We intend to follow Dan in his preparations for the trip, and during the event itself. Stay tuned!

Arizona may have already passed the Convention of States resolution, but we’re still on the move for liberty!
