This week I had some time to reflect about Convention of States, our country, and my part in helping keep my country free from both foreign and domestic enemies of this great country.
As I walked the halls of the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital, two words kept coming to me: warrior and patriot. As I spoke with many of the men and women that were disabled from combat defending our country, I felt gratitude for the blessings and freedoms I still possess because of those patriots and warriors.
I went back to my room and looked up the definition of those words.
A patriot is a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion; a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.
The definition of warrior is a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics
We need everyday patriots and warriors today, just like the founders of this country were. But more importantly we need trained patriots. Not just the military kind. We need common citizens like you and I, who realize we are losing freedoms every day because of the domestic enemies of our Constitution in Washington.
Are you a patriot, a warrior? John F. Kennedy said, "Don’t ask what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country!"
Today, America needs trained patriots. It needs trained warriors to defend the Constitution. Will you answer the call?
"You don't know what you have until it's gone" is a quote that we hear all of the time, but don't really give much thought to. When you lose something, are apart from something, or something is taken from you, you learn to never take for granted the blessings in your life. Hopefully, we learn this before it is too late. I wonder how close America is to becoming the next Venezuela
Join me and members of the Convention of States Michigan grassroots army Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. for a briefing and training. I look forward to locking arms with you to defend our country.
