PURCELLVILLE, Va., Nov. 19, 2014 -- Today the Convention of States Project (COS) announces the endorsement of patriotic rock band, Madison Rising. Their second album: American Hero is dedicated to the men and women of the armed forces, police, firefighters and first responders.

"Madison Rising has been a part of the movement by musicians on a mission to re-energize American music culture," said Mark Meckler, president of Citizens for Self-Governance and co-founder of the COS Project. "We appreciate the commitment of the band in what they are doing to support and inspire our military and first responders—the men and women on the front lines protecting and preserving our freedoms."

Madison Rising jumped into the music scene in 2011 with a rock version of "The Star Spangled Banner," which quickly jumped to #1 at the top of the music charts. They have continued to make a stand for American values and have played for audiences and major events including NASCAR, the National Football League and the Professional Bull Riders Association.

"Madison Rising is on a mission to make great rock music and send a message that the American culture is alive and well," said lead singer and Navy veteran, Dave Bray. "The band supports the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility and believes in the Convention of States Project to best help restore those values."

Bray continued, "We give new life to many of our nation's time honored classics like God Bless America, America the Beautiful, The Star-Spangled Banner and even the USMC fight song, The Marine's keep the songs relevant and exciting for the next generation of patriots!"

The Convention of States Project currently has organized leadership in 43 states around the country, including thousands of volunteers committed to stopping the federal government's abuse of power. Three Article V applications have already been passed in Alaska, Florida and Georgia.
