Quite frequently George Washington was the man of the hour during military operations in the period when America was breaking away from Britain and our nation was being established. He participated in the French and Indian War and was commander-in-chief during the Revolutionary War. He led in strategic planning of battles and then was involved in carrying out those plans.
Washington endured most of the hardships of battle right along with his troops, always leading the way and admonishing his men to pray for God’s help and protection. And repeatedly, he was spared injury and death. Several of his military maneuvers were made possible only by miraculous weather. He acknowledged the help of Providence in every instance.
Wm. Federer reports the episode of a ferocious battle where Washington had four bullet holes in his coat but was not taken down:

Like George Washington, the Convention of States initiative relies on Divine Providence to open the hearts of state legislators to a full understanding of the importance of an Article V state amending convention. We must pray that they feel a keen awareness of how the United States is losing its soul, its freedoms, and common sense. It is also imperative that they sense their responsibility to act using Article V, and soon!
