Defeating the Vikings - AMAC and Convention of States

Published in Coalitions on April 19, 2024 by David Copeland

District Captain Lexie Lockrow invited Don Henry from the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) to address the April grassroots meeting in Olathe. It was a full house in the back room at Johnny's Tavern. We learned how AMAC is working to protect the interests of all mature Americans in Kansas and in Washington. You can learn more about AMAC using the link at the bottom this post.

Don shared how medieval Europeans learned to defeat marauding Vikings who lived by raiding and plundering their relatively small and peaceful settlements. Watch the video and you will agree with his conclusion - we can defeat a trained and well-equipped enemy when we come together to change the balance of power.

We were once small and peaceful. We desire to live as free and equal citizens, raising our families, serving God and country, working to make life better for all. However we saw the rise of an unaccountable governing class in Washington, mortgaging our future and unwilling to protect our God-given rights.

In response we organized a movement for political and spiritual renewal and have grown to good numbers in Kansas, but like those medieval communities we are only strong when we answer the call and come together. We are no longer small and although we are peaceful we are not passive!

AMAC worked alongside COS and others including Americans For Prosperity to support income tax reform. We made a difference with our numbers and action. We will likely see the tax bill become law this year with lower tax rates and an end to tax on Social Security income.

Tax reform was one of two legislative measures actively supported by Convention of States Action in Kansas. The other measure, SB370, requiring legislature approval of any National Heritage Area or National Trail in Kansas was passed in committee but did not get a vote in the full Senate. We will be back next year.

This spring we are preparing for next year and to build on our success. We want to grow our numbers of supporters and volunteers. We ask you to forward this email to your friends and neighbors. Let them know that you have answered the call for an Article V convention and ask them to sign the petition.
