Aloha State Team Delivers Key Evidence!

Published in Blog on February 21, 2024 by Mark Kenneth White

The week 5 team included left to right: Mark White, Chanara Richmond, Ginger Goodwin, Blanca Larson, Lori Nip, Rita Kama-Kimura, North Carolina's Gary Norris, Jason Horstman, Lei Lono, Jack & Donna Van Osdol and Brett Kulbis.  Not pictured: Ijeva Bambridge.

Arguably the most important Wednesday visit to the Capitol of the entire six-week program, on February 21, 13 members of the Hawaii Team meet at the Capitol to deliver the key evidence of our grassroots army support for our resolution.

All 76 legislators received the full listing of the COS petition signers in their district! They also got the latest nationwide information about the status of the COS Article V resolution across 37 other states.

Petition listings by district and a legislative update on recent nationwide wins for Convention of States, painted for Hawaii legislators, an eye-opening picture of the broader public support for COS.

As a special surprise one of North Carolina’s Region Captains, Gary Norris, visiting family members in Hawaii, joined the COSHI group and tagged along with a team going into several offices and helping distribute petition lists.

Left: Lori Nip and Gary Norris visit an office.  Center: Lori explains the petition listing.  Right: Donna and Jack Van Osdol share a light moment with a Senate office staff member.
Left: Ijeva and Lei enter Senator Elefantes office.  Center: Lei discusses the handouts to office staff.  Right: A staff member looks on intently as Chanara presents the list of petition signers.

Next Wednesday, February 28, marks the last week the COSHI team will visit the Capitol as a group to distribute handouts which will include Michael Farris’ surge article “Can We Trust the Constitution?” plus a handbill providing the QR code to our COS Co-founder’s riveting Iowa testimony.

Also expected in the last week of February is the filing of our COS Resolution in both the Hawaii House and Senate. As a result of our new Senate introducer we could very well be slated for a committee hearing shortly thereafter!
