Adopted Indiana “Hoosier” Newest Oklahoma “Sooner” State Content Writer

Published in Blog on February 07, 2021 by Thomas A. Jensen

Convention of States Oklahoma's newest State Content Writer hails from South Bend, Indiana, and now calls Oklahoma home.

Thomas A. Jensen is a retired U.S. Navy, 27-year veteran cryptologist and historian. Affectionately nicknamed “Tommytime,” he is a 2019 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland Global Campus and an enshrined member in the Phi Alpha Theta History National Honor Society and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

After Navy retirement in 2005, Tommytime spent the next decade living with his wife Liliana in her hometown of San Vito dei Normanni, Brindisi, Italy before returning to the states and Ardmore in 2014.

Asked why he decided to join our COS Oklahoma team, he stated, “My throat hurt from yelling at a television that offered zero comfort in return on Election Night 2020.”

“All the obvious lawlessness," he continued, "ignoring federal and state constitutional oaths to uphold the law, constant end-runs around our Bill of Rights, and a future in our republic for my great-grandson is why I’m glad the Convention of States and I found each other. Being a veteran who has sworn an oath to our Constitution and Uniform Code of Military Justice six times, I am far past disgusted on how some members of Congress will swear their oath one day, and blatantly move to alter our natural constitutional rights the next.”

In his role as Content Writer, he believes his first duty to the COS is to keep our team informed on local and national events affecting Oklahoma through coordination with the State Director and State Communications Coordinator.

Tommytime also believes “that the closer we get to number 34 on our state ‘hit parade,’ I need to be ready and respond to what may be additional, short-fuse requirements like amendment research support and other admin assistance and document support requested from national to our Oklahoma leadership.”

Since joining COS Oklahoma, he has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of friendship and guidance provided from all levels of our team.

“The teamwork and assistance provided to me in just one week proves a 100 percent level of commitment, determination, and sacrifice as we save our republic by saving our Constitution.”

But he wonders, “Where does Walmart keep all the Notre Dame sports gear?” Welcome to “Tommytime.”
