The People Have Spoken

Published in Blog on August 07, 2022 by Thomas Powers

Have you ever played Twenty Questions? Twenty Questions is a game but can also be serious business. In fact, the entire survey industry is built around the idea of gathering information to assess how the public feels about various issues, products, or services.

To gauge public opinion about the Convention of States Project, COS partnered with The Trafalgar Group. The Trafalgar Group is highly respected because of their accuracy in predicting election outcomes 21 days before election day. You can view those results HERE). Comparing election results to Trafalgar’s polls clearly illustrates Trafalgar's excellent predictive accuracy.

For data on Convention of States, a Trafalgar poll considered party affiliation, age, gender, and ethnicity.

What is Convention of States and why should you care? Convention of States is a national grassroots organization based on Article V of the US Constitution whose mission is “to build a grassroots army of self-governing activists.” COS seeks to help states pass a resolution calling for a Convention of States to suggest amendments to the Constitution that would:

1) Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government
2) Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government
3) Limit the terms of office for government officials, including members of Congress.

These three objectives have never been more important for America. Though COS has made progress in the face of considerable opposition, passing the Resolution in 19 states so far, it is critical to keep the momentum going!

Don’t be misled by the criticism you might hear. Many well-funded organizations who prefer the status quo have waged strong arguments against COS. Educate yourself. Find out the truth about the negative spin the naysayers are spewing.
