Alyss Kovach is not your average American-born political grassroots activist. She was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley in Eastern Ontario, Canada. As an adult, she started work as an accounting clerk at the Windsor Transmission Plant. She later graduated from Walsh College with a BS in accounting and a minor in information technology. Ultimately, she ended up working in information technology, then in systems development before retiring.
After meeting her American husband, Alyss and her child immigrated to the United States. Alyss had noticed the growing tyranny of the Canadian government and enjoyed the newly found freedoms in the USA. Imagine her surprise when she saw some of the same tendencies start emerging in her adopted homeland. When she discovered Convention of States, she saw a solution that was big enough to attack the problem head-on. She went all in.
“In February 2021, I signed an online petition for Convention of States and decided to do something. Given the horrible circumstances that were put upon us in with Covid-19, I had been considering helping the elderly,” says Alyss. She opted instead to commit to COS.
“I believe our current government is not just corrupt,” says Alyss. “I believe they are actually criminal. I believe they cheated to win the election, and where they didn’t cheat, they used blackmail and coercion. The way they handled COVID was a clear violation of the Nuremberg Code, and the people just went with it. I hope someday the truth will be exposed and those responsible will pay the price.”
Until that day comes, Alyss is committing her spare time to the Michigan Convention of States Project. She hopes her efforts will bring about an awareness of what is going on in the nation. Her goal is to help educate people about what is going on and how far away our government is from what the Framers intended.
“Once people realize that there is a documented solution that was put into the Constitution to protect the people from tyranny, you see their eyes light up,” she smiles. “It is like they have hope again.”
Alyss serves as a volunteer in the Lapeer area and supports Region 3 as a Follow-up Team Member (FUT). She is at most events answering questions about Convention of States and is available to come to local organizations and educate them on how the Framers gave We the People a constitutionally sanctioned way to peacefully restore the checks and balances between the federal government and the several state legislatures.
“I’m sometimes hard to get a hold of,” says Alyss. “But if you contact our Region Captain, Chet Grant, at chester.grant@cosaction.com, he will make sure that we help you understand Article V of the Constitution and how, together, we are taking back the Republic.”
