“If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
Cliché? Yes. Over-quoted? Yes. Good advice? Also, yes.
It’s advice the COS team in Alabama has taken to heart, as you can see in the video below.
COS Alabama included some talented videographers, and they used their unique gifts to create the best volunteer video we’ve seen so far.
So, if you’re a volunteer, ask yourself, “What special talents, connections, or abilities do I possess that I can use to further the cause? Where can I maximize my skills?” When you have your answer, tell your district captain or state director! We’re sure they’d love to hear where you can help.
And if you’re a leader, ask yourself, “What special talents, connections, or abilities does my team possess? Where can I place each of my volunteers to maximize their unique skill sets?” Get to know your volunteers. Ask them where they have experience and where they think they’ll be most useful. We in the national office know our volunteers possess some incredible talents. Our job, as well as the job of each COS leader, is to find those talents and use them to, well, make lemonade.
We’ve said it over and over, but we’ll say it again: we need your help to be successful. If we all work together, we know we’ll succeed. Are you ready? Sign up today and get involved!
