Though we didn't have the votes necessary to get the COS resolution passed in the NCGA, we are still doing all we can to ensure our success in 2023.
There are many things we need to do to make this happen. Making calls through Telepatriot to ask COS supporters to call their legislator is one. Another is to take time out of our busy day to write a short hand-written not (typed if your hand-writing isn't terribly legible) speaking to why passing the COS resolution is so important to you. are becoming a thing of the past. However, we've found they have a far greater impact on legislators then phone calls and, particularly, e-mails.
Please take time today to snail a short note to both your Representative in the House and your Senator asking for their support.
If you're not sure who currently represents you in either of both chamber, please click here to enter your address and get their contact information.
Once you have your legislators name and district number, click here to see where they stand on COS.
Here are some suggestions for you to include in your letter:
- Your name and where you live.
- Thank them for their support of you and your fellow constituents in the NC.
- Let them know that you are one of the XX,XXX+ COS supporters in NC who want to join the 19 states who have already passed the resolution to call for a convention.
- Explain in your own words why you support COS. Is it:
- The National debt that has now topped $30 trillion and growing every day, saddling your kids and grandkids with debt?
- Overregulation by the Federal government impacting businesses?
- Career politicians who are more concerned with power and retaining their control in Washington than representing their constituents here in NC?
- Let them know it is time for NC to join the other 19 states calling for a Convention of States using Article V of the U.S. Constitution to rein in an out-of-control Federal government and return power to our state legislature, where it belongs.
- Let them know that COS supporters across the state look forward to supporting pro-U.S. Constitution state legislative candidates in the all future primary and general election elections.
- End by thanking them for their service to the citizens of State of NC.
In the words of Boris Epshteyn, "Color boldly, but, please color within the lines". A kind, heartfelt message means a lot to everyone who receives one!
Thank you for all you do to advance our cause here in North Carolina!!
