Host a Watch Party for Convention of States during our episode of Life, Liberty & Levin!

On August 19 Mark Levin will interview COS President Mark Meckler and Senior Advisor Tom Coburn on his Fox News show...

For the full hour.

Sunday, August 19, 2018
Fox News Channel 10:00pmET/7:00pmPT

That's right. An entire hour of television dedicated to educating Americans about Article V of the Constitution. An entire hour of television on how Convention of States empowers citizens to help drain the swamp and save America.

Mark Levin is the author of The Liberty Amendments, the #1 bestseller that helped set a brushfire for our historic movement.

Now, his show Life, Liberty & Levin is #1 in its time slot. That's why this is an awesome opportunity to reach, teach, and activate Americans for Convention of States and build the grassroots army.

And that's why we want to maximize on this awesome opportunity. We're inviting volunteers to host watch parties for the must-see television event of the summer!

Instructions

1. Register as a host by clicking here.

2. Send an invitation to your friends and family. If you’re a District Captain, invite those in your district who live close to you. Encourage others in your district to do the same. This is always best done in person or by phone

Here is a sample of what you might say:

"Hi ___, I wanted to know if you’d like to join me on Sunday the 19th at 10pmET/7pmPT at my house? I’m inviting a few friends over to watch a must-see TV event that will give us the plan for restraining the federal government in our personal lives and in our state. This will be the best one-hour show of the summer and will give you everything you need to know about Article V and Convention of States.

After the show, I thought that we might also discuss what each one of us can do to bring success to this effort.

I hope you’ll consider joining us. The show starts at 10pmET/7pmPT. If you arrive a few minutes early you can meet the others and enjoy some coffee and cookies."

3. After they have confirmed, follow up with an email to give them the details of time and place.

4. Call them the day before to remind them that you are expecting them. If you have just one person in attendance or 21, you have been successful. We win them one heart at a time.

5. Be sure to have some material available for them. There are downloadable handouts available on our website. You can download them on your computer and print, or you can order them. Your State Director may already have some of this material on hand to give to you.

Here are some suggested items to have on hand:

6. When guests arrive be sure to introduce everyone and offer them refreshments.

7. Be sure that all are ready to start on time to listen from beginning to end.

8. Take a group photo, perhaps in front of the TV during the show, and post it on Facebook and/or Twitter with the hashtags #COSproject #LifeLibertyLevin.

9. After the show, begin an open conversation about what they just heard and learned. Is there anyone who has questions about Article V and Convention of States?

Allow for open dialogue and let others help answer some of the questions.

10. Be sure that each guest has signed the petition. Ask them to talk to five others about COS.

11. Ask how they would like to help in your district. Be sure that you have everyone’s contact information.

12. Follow up within three days of your meeting and get them engaged on some level. Ask them to join you while you visit your legislator.

Have fun!

Physicians for COS

The diagnosis is clear.

We have a growing cancer today known as the Obamacare. As a result physicians are no longer free to practice medicine.

No profession feels the full force of the federal government more than physicians. The medical profession is the most highly regulated profession in the United States. The practice of medicine is controlled, taxed, and regulated to the point of being destroyed by the heavy hand of the federal government.

Physicians are told how to bill, how much to charge, and how to treat patients. They are mandated to use expensive electronic medical records. The federally enacted HIPPA (Health Information Privacy and Portability Act) makes the communication between physicians and atients burdensome, inefficient, and expensive. Every physician is required by federal mandate to register with the government to obtain an NPI (national provider identifier.) We are required by federal law to obtain and pay for a license to prescribe medication through the DEA, which is separate from our state licensure.

This heavy hand of government not only oversees the largest federal health bureaucracy ever created, but by extension reaches into every state, every city, and every small town to regulate how every licensed physician practices the art of medicine and how citizens obtain care.

The treatment is also clear.

The prescription for a cure was written into our constitution by our founders. Article V of our constitution allows for the states to call for a convention of states to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government through the proposal of constitutional amendments. Physicians should be the strongest supporters of this brilliantly-crafted states’ rights tool placed into our constitution by our founders.

I urge my fellow American physicians to join with me in supporting an Article V Convention of States to take back control of the practice of medicine. It’s the only way that we can return the practice of medicine back to the intimate relationship between a doctor and patient without interference by the heavy hand of a distant, national government.
